Inara L McGroarty

Comments: Reflections on Len
My interaction with Len was more on outside interests. Len introduced me to my first experience with movies on DVD and the director’s comments. He enthusiastically lent me to A Walk to Remember and I found that a movie wasn’t just two hours long. It took a full eight hours or more to watch all the possibilities with director’s and actor’s commentaries. Len told of Michelle’s expertise and analysis of film and how he had learned to watch for much more than just the story line.
In another conversation on movies, we found that we both loved the sound track for The Hunt for Red October and just last Wednesday, Len mentioned that a CD with a Russian men’s chorus was in his car right now.
I’ll miss the movie reviews and discussions that I had with Len.
Following my mother’s death this January, when I mentioned that it hit me that I’d lost the opportunity to learn any more about my own genealogy, Len thoughtfully replied that he just couldn’t imagine that one day, his mom and dad would no longer be here. They were both very much a part of his life. He definitely made it known that his family was very important to him and more than once, mentioned that his dad was his hero.
Requiescat in pace Len
